Strange Pee-Wee Herman Trivia

In googling for Pee-Wee Herman info for a recent post, I came across a strange piece of trivia about the comic man/child. While it isn't about Iraq or Mideast conflict, or even Fillibusters, I did find it an interesting example of Hollywood's values at work.

When Pee-Wee contracted to do his children's show "Pee-Wee's Playhouse" for CBS in 1986, the network gave him complete creative control with 3 exceptions. What were they?
  • he was forbidden to say, 'If you show me yours, I'll show you mine,'
  • to stab potatoes with pencils, or
  • to walk around with toilet paper stuck to his shoe.
